I’ll be in my trailer… watching trailers: On the road again

Join us every week for a trip into the weird and wonderful world of trailers. Whether it’s the first teaser for the latest instalment in your favourite franchise, an obscure preview for a strange indie darling, whether it’s good, bad, ugly or just plain weird – your favourite pop culture baristas are there to tell you what they think.

Matt likes exploration in video games, and that’s something that Sable offers plenty of. Check out his post on the world and feel of Sable.

Meanwhile, Mege wrote in his Six Damn Fine Degrees about a creator of very different, unforgiving yet beautiful worlds: the late, great Cormac McCarthy, some of whose novels have been etched into the big screen as well.

But it’s not all grim and foreboding in Trailer Land!

Mege: Oh, how I long for a good goofy comedy. This one seems to have the fun, the story and the cast. And do you remember what Margaret Qualley and Bill Camp brought to The Leftovers? Get your popcorn ready.

Matt: There’s something inordinately exciting about Martin Scorsese doing his first film with his original and current actor muses: Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio. And, obviously, there’s something inordinately exciting about Martin Scorsese doing another film – because with him, it’s never just ‘another film’. (Talking of Scorsese: were you around for last year’s Summer of Directors instalment on the man?)
