Join us every week for a trip into the weird and wonderful world of trailers. Whether it’s the first teaser for the latest instalment in your favourite franchise, an obscure preview for a strange indie darling, whether it’s good, bad, ugly or just plain weird – your favourite pop culture baristas are there to tell you what they think.
In this week’s Six Damn Fine Degrees, Melanie found joy in introducing a group of teens to the Frank Oz-directed musical Little Shop of Horrors for Halloween. Definitely one to revisit as well!
And what else do we want to share with you before the week is over?
Matt: Wow… So many twos! Some of these are a bit more surprising than others – I wasn’t aware of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters being successful enough to get a second season (though who knows what is successful in this streaming age?), and The Night Manager seemed well and truly finished, added to which I’m not sure there are more novels about this particular character than the one John Le Carré originally wrote (though that never seemed to stop anyone). Being a sequel or a follow-up of one kind or another doesn’t need to be bad, and I hope that these all will end up more than just more of the same – which isn’t quite enough, even if the same means retro-apocalypses or another Streep/Hathaway team-up.
