This was followed by the September instalment of our Shortcuts: brief takes on what we’ve seen, read, played etc. recently. This one included everything from the horrors of liminal spaces and murderous ethnoreligious fanaticism to the horrors of being discovered by a bunch of rich-kid hipsters decades after you were briefly famous as a New York poet.
Then, on Friday, Melanie wrote about how books can be the best mood-altering substance. She also mentions Terry Brooks’ Sword of Shannara being “legit crappy” – but that’s really the only lead I’ve got for a trailer, so…
